As part of its plans to help reduce the high illiterate rate of the war-torn West African Nation called Liberia, by focusing on the education of children from poor, unemployed and low-income parents, Help Liberia Foundation has established its first school in Liberia.
Prior to the establishment of this school, the Foundation only assisted schools and poor children of other schools, providing educational materials, school supplies, building materials, etc. Interestingly, this is the very first school to be established and managed by the Foundation.
Help Liberia Foundation Community School, as the school is officially known, has more than one hundred pupils. The children are mainly from poor families in the community, which is the group that the Foundation really wants to help. (Please view our permit below - at the end of this article)

Meanwhile, because of the lack of space, coupled with the scarcity of resources, the school is operating only kindergarten and primary levels, but up to the third class of the primary level (Grade 3). In fact, the building used in being rented - we paid for it every month - from a resident of the city.

As we obtain more resources, it is the Foundation’s plan to establish more of such schools in different parts of Liberia. The organization’s desire is to help as many poor children as possible, by providing them with tuition-free education, food, clothes and health care.
The school, which is located in the city of Buchanan, a distance of about 150km from Monrovia, was established in September of this year. At present, the school has seven instructional and administrative staff members. The Principal, or Headmaster, is Mr. Samuel Nimely, Pastor of the New Life Jubilee Fellowship Church.

At this point, we express our gratitude to all those who have helped us in making our dream become a reality. We are thankful to our donors, sponsors, etc. We believe that had it not been for their moral and financial assistance, we would not have been able to achieve this goal – establishing the first school after only two years of the Foundation’s existence.
We are also very grateful to our staff, both in Poland and in Liberia, especially Mr. Henry Kulee and Mr. Moses Zangar, Coordinator and Assistant Coordinator of the Foundation’s activities in Liberia, respectively.
Above all else, we want to thank God Almighty for giving us, not only life and strength and forgiveness, but also for giving us the ability to do what we are doing. May His loving-kindness and tender mercies endure forever.
As the task before is huge and requires a lot of resources, the Foundation is appealing to all individuals and institutions of good will – whether private or public, international or local, religious or secular, profit-making or non-profit-making, etc – to help the Foundation with whatever they may be willing to give. Every gift will be appreciated and used wisely.
