Posted by Help Liberia Foundation on October 04, 2004

A welcome program was held in honor of the Executive Director, Mr. Paul Y. Harry, in Buchanan, Grand Bassa County, for his effort in helping unfortunate children in the Liberian society through Help Liberia Foundation.

The program, which was organized by the Ministerial Primary School in Buchanan, was held on 15 July 2004, and was attended by students, parents, and staff of the school, as well as officers of some local NGOs in the city.

In his welcome remark, the Vice Principal, Mr. Paul Y. Piah, welcomed the Executive Director and his team and wished them a happy stay at the school and in the city. The Principal, Mr. Andrew Garsuah, on his part, expressed thanks and appreciation to Help Liberia Foundation, through its Executive Director, for their effort being made to help poor Liberian children get their education, especially after the fourteenth-year civil war.

In his brief remark to the audience, Mr. Harry thanked the school for the honor accorded him and promised that Help Liberia Foundation would do its best to help the under-privileged, and that the Ministerial Primary School (MPS) would also benefit from the Foundation’s many programs. He also encouraged the students to take their education very seriously.

At the end of the program, the administration had a special meeting with the foundation’s delegation, at which time the Principal outlined the needs of the schools:

  1. Desks for the classrooms
  2. Assorted reading materials/books
  3. Used clothes
  4. Food (canned and others)
  5. First aid drugs
  6. Sporting materials

Help Liberia Foundation is appealing to all individuals and institutions of good will to come to the aid of the school. The school has more than 200 children.

Those accompanying the Director to the school were Pastor Samuel Nimely and Mr. Moses Washington.
