The Executive Director of Help Liberia Foundation, Paul Yeenie Harry, arrived in Liberia on Friday, 5 October 2007. He left Poland and spent about two days in Belgium before going to Liberia.
Although the Executive Director will use the trip to see his family and undertake some personal tasks, the main purpose of his trip is to work with the foundation’s school in Liberia. During his stay in Liberia, Mr. Harry will help improve the school’s administrative and operational systems, conduct school-and-community programs, conduct staff development programs, including teachers’ training, enhance the curricular and extra-curricular programs of the school, help strengthen the Teacher-Parent Association of the school, with the purpose of getting the parents fully involved in the running of the school, and so forth.
Mr. Harry will also explore the possibility of obtaining a plot of land for the construction of a school building, which is one of the foundation’s major plans. The foundation currently leases a building from a resident of Buchanan City where the school is operated. The possibility of renegotiating the current lease agreement, which expires in 2009, will also be looked at during his trip.
We extend profound appreciation to all our sponsors for helping us to start and manage a school that serves needy kids in the Liberian society. We are able to do what we are doing because of the great love and concern of many different individuals. We appreciate their assistance to the foundation. We are all partners in a campaign aimed at helping needy kids get their education. May we not get weary in our effort.

On a sad note, however, the Executive Director has just lost his maternal grandmother in Liberia. The body has been taken to the funeral home, and preparations are being made for the funeral activities. Our prayers for strength and guidance are with Mr. Harry and his family. May the soul of his grandmother rest in eternal peace.
