Help Liberia Foundation Community School, the school we operate in Africa, reopened its door to students for the 2008/2009 academic year on September 15.
At the moment, the school has registered one hundred twenty-seven children, and there are indications that more parents will bring their kids in the school. We welcome all the students, especially the new kids, and wish them a happy and successful school year. Our goal is to help as many of them as possible to get their education in a country whose illiteracy rate is more than 70%.
We thank the administrative, faculty and support staffs of the school for a successful beginning. We welcome the new staff members into the Help Liberia Foundation family. The names of the staff of the school, along with their positions, have been entered on the website. Their photos will be entered soon. Click on the “Our School” section of this website.
We also wish to thank all of our current sponsors for their assistance to many of the children in the school, assistance which is helping the kids to get their education. Many thanks also to those sponsors who, from time to time, purchase school materials and other items for the children they sponsor.
In view of the many new kids who have just joined the school, we would like to encourage and appeal to all individuals and institutions of good will to choose a child from our website for sponsorship. A child can be sponsored by paying only $7 per month. This amount will pay for the child’s education. To choose a kid for sponsorship, please click the “Child Support Program” section in the upper right corner of the website. We have received numerous pictures of new kids who need sponsorship in Liberia. We have begun putting their photos on the website.
