We are pleased to inform all individuals and institutions of good will, especially our sponsors, that the foundation has launched a School Construction Project Funds Drive.
Our plan is to construct a school building for the under-privileged Liberian children whom we all are helping to educate. We plan to start the construction during the last quarter of 2009, provided we mange to generate the funds needed for the project.
As many of you already know, the building in which we’re running the school at the moment – a primary school – is not ours. We are renting it. Besides, it was built as a residential building, not a school building. Our plan is to construct a building in which we will operate both an elementary school and a junior high school.
The building will contain thirteen classrooms, two vocational-training rooms, one reading room, two offices, a teachers’ room, a storeroom and two toilets. The cost of the project is estimated at US$35,000.
Meanwhile, the foundation has established a bank account for the project. Donors sending money from abroad may use the information below:

We promise to keep the public informed every two months about the status of the project – how much has been collected, what the balance is, etc.
Note: If we manage to collect more funds than needed for the construction of the school, one other major project connected with the school is the construction of a three-bed-room guest house. We’ve decided to also prioritize this because all those who have expressed their desire to volunteer in Liberia have indicated that they will underwrite the cost of their travel and stay in Liberia, if we help them with accommodation.
