Our school in Liberia, Help Liberia Foundation Community School, has received textbooks from the Liberian Ministry of Education.
The books were donated through the County Education Office in the City of Buchanan, which the school is located. There were a total of seven cartons of books. They are comprised of assorted textbooks for the kindergarten and primary divisions, including social studies, science, mathematics, language arts and other subjects.
Besides the textbooks, officials of the Ministry of Education donated instructional materials and guides, relating to the use of the books. In addition, a special workshop was held to explain not only how to use the books, but also how to safeguard and maintain them.
Receiving the books on behalf of the school, the Principal, Mr. Samuel Nimely, expressed gratitude to the ministry for the donation and assured them that the books will be used to help the pupils learn better, as well as help the teachers teach better. He furthered that the books couldn’t have come a better time, as the school was in dire need of books.
