Programs of the Foundation

Help Liberia Foundation is involved in a number of programs. These programs are aimed at assisting the needy in Liberian in many different ways. Below are the major programs of the Foundation, along with a brief description of each.

Educational Programs

Our educational programs entail a number of sub-programs. These sub-programs include the following: constructing schools throughout Liberia, providing educational materials/supplies to needy Liberian students, providing educational materials/supplies to needy Liberian schools, providing/seeking scholarship opportunities to needy students, conducting teacher-training programs, conducting adult literacy programs, conducting vocational education, etc. These programs are at the heart of Help Liberia Foundation because illiteracy rate in Liberia is between 75–80%. Child Support Program

This program is aimed at giving as many unfortunate Liberian children as possible the opportunity to be educated. The foundation strategy is to seek sponsors (individuals, families and institutions) who will be willing and ready to help unfortunate Liberian children get their education by contributing a fixed amount on behalf of the child to the Foundation every month. A sponsor may choose to support a single child or a group of children.

US$7 per month can help a child go to school and have a better future. Sponsors may exchange letters, pictures, etc, with the children they support through the Foundation. Sponsors may also, from time to time, send gift money to the children they support.

The Child Sponsorship Program will bring great hope to a lot of children and their parents, as most parents are unemployed, and, therefore, incapable of financially supporting their children in schools. The unemployment rate in Liberia is about 70%. Think about sponsoring a poor child today! See list of children

Charity Package

Under the Charity Package, Help Liberia Foundation collects or purchases food, clothes, footwear, beddings, drugs, cooking utensils, farming materials, etc, and donates these items to unfortunate children and other needy individuals or families in the Liberian society, especially those in the countryside. A large portion of the Liberian population is in great need of the necessities of life, and Help Liberia Foundation want to help them in any way possible. HIV/AIDS Program

A significant number of the Liberian population is already suffering from AIDS or is infected with the AIDS virus. More and more people are getting infected every day. This alarming situation is largely due to ignorance on the part of a large segment of the population, poverty, unprotected sex, etc.

The organization will conduct sustainable HIV/AIDS awareness and prevention programs in order to help reduce the spread of the virus on the one hand, and to positively work with those who are already infected, so that they can feel accepted in the Liberian society. Bible Training and Evangelism Program

Under this program Help Liberia Foundation seeks to conduct an effectively intensive Bible training/teaching and evangelism programs in Liberia, especially in the countryside. The single most important purpose of this program is to teach about Jesus Christ and His saving grace to as many Liberians as possible, as well as helping those who have already accepted Him to remain in Him. This program will be conducted by doing, but not limited to, the following:

1. Conducting Bible correspondence courses
2. Conducting campus evangelism
3. Conducting community Bible studies
4. Conducting public evangelism
5. Conducting personal evangelism
6. Conducting Bible quizzing programs
7. Conducting Bible study camps
8. Working with existing churches and church-related groups to spread the Good News of Jesus
