Information for volunteers

Most of our goals are realized through the participation of individuals and institutions who decide to work as volunteers for Help Liberia Foundation. We are very grateful to our many volunteers for their deep commitment to the cause for which we stand. The interesting thing is that we do not treat our volunteers as “strangers,” but as an integral part of the organization. Their commitment is part of our assets.

There is no limit to the number of individuals or institutions that may work as volunteers for Help Liberia Foundation, as there are many different programs to be carried out. You may become a volunteer worker by engaging in one, or a combination, of the following activities:

  1. Organizing fundraising activities/programs on behalf of Help Liberia
  2. Identifying individuals and institutions whom you believe are in the position to support/sponsor Help Liberia Foundation
  3. Working as a volunteer classroom/vocational teacher in schools established by Help Liberia Foundation or schools cooperating with it
  4. Working as a teacher-trainer for Liberian teachers, for a limited amount of time
  5. Identifying individuals, families and institutions who may be willing and able to help a poor Liberian child go to school
  6. Collecting food items, clothes, drugs, etc, for the needy people of Liberia, both children and adults
  7. Helping to raise awareness about the plight of the Liberian people, especially the children
  8. Providing the Foundation with information about human rights abuses, injustices, misrule, etc, especially as they relate to the Liberian society
  9. Organizing evangelistic campaigns, community Bible studies, campus Bible
    crusades/teaching, etc
  10. Working as a missionary to Liberia for a limited amount of time, working with local churches and schools, training local Bible teachers and preachers and conducting Bible classes and evangelism
  11. Finding agencies or firms that could assist Help Liberia Foundation in sending consignments of needed items such as food, clothes, drugs, books, etc to the needy people in Liberia
  12. Conducting workshops, seminars, lecture sessions, etc, on human rights issues, peace-building and reconciliation, HIV/AIDS, social justice, adult education, etc.

NOTE to Those Wanting to Be Volunteers in Liberia: While it is true that the Foundation needs volunteers to help Liberia in different capacities, we wish to clarify that the Foundation is NOT, at this point, in the position to bear the costs (allowances, transportation, accommodation, etc.) associated with the volunteer's work. HLF will highly encourage volunteers who are in the position to entirely fund their volunteer work to please contact the Foundation, clearly stating their areas of interest.
